Charity Antique Valuation Days Success!

Antique valuations help raise money for charity

Antiques specialist Max Beaumont has been on hand to value a range of antiques and collectables in aid of raising money for charity.

The valuation days, which have been held at The Parish Hall in Wareham have proven a huge success with the residents of Purbeck travelling far and wide at the opportunity of having their family treasures assessed.

Max commented “We have seen an exciting and eclectic mix of items brought in for valuation. A highlight so far was a small collection of pocket watches, which had originally belonged to the ladies’ grandfather and hidden away for years gathering dust in a drawer. Curious to know if they were of value or simply destined for the local car boot, she brought them along for my inspection and was shocked to discover that they were worth a small fortune.

Another was a gentleman who had a set of World War medals. He had conducted some prior research before our meeting and believed one of the medals to be a replica but after closer examination, it resulted in the medal being genuine and valued in excess of £1,000.”

Carol Turner, former Mayor of Wareham mentioned “Max has done a super job in helping raise several hundred pounds for my chosen charity. As a result and at the request of local residents, we have welcomed him back to conduct a series of further valuation days, which will be scheduled over the forthcoming months.”

The next valuation days will be held on Friday 21st June between 10 am – 12 noon. Tel 07864 019134 or email: for further information.
