Lewis-Manning Hospice Care Hosts Community Drop-In for Purbeck
Lewis-Manning Hospice Care is inviting local residents and healthcare professionals from across Purbeck to an informal community drop-in at Swanage Cricket Club on Friday 16th January. The event, running from 2pm to 4pm, is a chance to meet the hospice team, learn more about its services, and explore how care is evolving locally.

Attendees will hear about the charity’s work to provide anticipatory hospice care at home, as well as opportunities for social connection and specialist support available within the community. The event will also mark the start of two exciting new partnerships, with Care Dorset and Dorset Connect, supporting health and wellbeing programmes for people already receiving social care services in Purbeck.
The afternoon will feature short presentations, followed by tea, biscuits and an open discussion, allowing guests to ask questions, share feedback, and connect directly with the team.
Lewis-Manning Hospice Care is Dorset’s independent hospice charity, providing free care and support to people living with life-limiting illnesses and their families. With only 12% of funding from the NHS, the charity relies on donations, fundraising, retail, and partnerships to continue its work. Its person-centred approach focuses on early support, wellbeing, and helping people live as well as possible through their illness.
The Swanage drop-in promises to be an informative and welcoming opportunity for anyone interested in learning more about hospice care in Purbeck.
