A community led charitable organisation. Charity number: 1168537. Formed in 2016 after funding cuts to youth centres in Dorset, including the Wareham youth centre.
The Purbeck Youth and Community Foundation aim to help and support young people in Purbeck. They manage the Wareham Youth and Community Centre and also run weekly sessions at Corfe Castle and Wool youth clubs. They also organise day trips and residential activities.
Qualified staff support young people’s individual needs and when necessary signpost them to further help on a diverse range of issues. They work in partnership with many agencies who regularly use their premises to meet young people in their environment.
Members have highlighted the club as somewhere they feel safe, where they can meet friends and make new friends, relax, enjoy themselves and take advantage of new opportunities.
Follow the PY&CF’s Facebook page (link on the right) for updates on clubs and sessions. You can find the Wareham centre in Worgret Road, adjacent to the Purbeck Sports Centre, to the rear of the Purbeck School.
