Wareham Camera Club

Photography has changed over the years but our enthusiasm for it hasn’t!

Wareham Camera Club can trace its origins to a meeting convened 1965 by a group including the local optician and the town’s professional photographer.

For more information on our activities and presentations check out our website and do contact us if interested in joining. All are welcome regardless of experience or standard – just an enthusiasm for photography with an opportunity to meet like minded people, improve your skills or simply enjoy seeing a range of excellent prints and images throughout the year.

We meet at the Wareham Parish Hall which is located on the Quay at Wareham next to the Quay Inn. The post code is BH20 4LP. We meet most Tuesday evenings from September to May and start at 7.30 pm.

Details of meetings and upcoming events are updated on the Wareham Camera Club website.

Quick Questions

Club activities include lectures, demonstrations, competitions and visits. These are augmented by field-trips when members can practice their skills and learn from one-another. Highlight of the club year is the exhibition held at Wareham Town Hall each Summer, when members’ work is on show to both local people and visitors to the town.
The club has also worked within the local community through a number of initiatives, including support for the Wareham in Bloom project, sponsoring the visit of young people from Chernobyl, and giving talks at local day-care centres. The club has also worked with the Purbeck School to organize a photographic competition to help young people develop their photographic skills..
