Dorset Buttons Morris Dancers Fundraiser for Dorset Search and Rescue
Dancing for a Cause Raises £905 for Local Lifesavers
The Dorset Buttons Morris Dancers have proudly presented a cheque for £905 to Dorset Search and Rescue, funds raised during the group’s lively programme of summer performances across the county.
Dorset Search and Rescue
Operating throughout Dorset, Dorset Search and Rescue is made up entirely of highly trained volunteers who support the Police, Coastguard, and other emergency services in searching for, rescuing, or recovering missing persons. In addition to land searches, the team also provides swift- and flood-water rescue capability, assists with locating significant objects—including in crime-related searches—and offers vital support at major incidents.
Last year alone, the team responded to 46 call-outs, contributing an impressive 2,465 volunteer hours. This year is already proving just as demanding.
A spokesperson for the charity expressed sincere thanks for the donation, noting that contributions like this play an essential role in maintaining equipment, training, and operational readiness for their search teams.

Meanwhile, the dancers say they are keen to continue performing and raising money for local causes—but they are currently seeking new members to join their ranks and keep the tradition thriving. Those interested in dancing, music, or helping behind the scenes are warmly encouraged to get involved. Find out more on their website: www.brmm.org.uk/DorsetButtonsMorris
