About the Lady St Mary Bell Ringers
The Handbell Ringers ring a set of handbells that belong to Lady St Mary Church. The set of bells was probably first used by church tower bell ringers to practise change ringing after the first World War, and the LSM Bell Ringers occasionally do this, but these days they mostly ring tunes with each person having one bell in each hand.
Each bell produces one note when swung so that the clapper hits the edge of the bell. The group currently has up to 12 members which means that we can ring up to 3 octaves of bells.
