Forest Holme Hospice Charity wins national award for Strictly Extravaganza
Forest Holme Hospice Charity is celebrating after its popular Strictly Extravaganza fundraiser won the Special Event of the Year award at the prestigious national Emma Awards.
The award recognises the outstanding success of the charity’s 2025 event, which saw ten local amateur dancers take to the stage at Lighthouse, Poole, raising an incredible £80,000 to support local people living with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
The charity was recognised alongside some of the UK’s biggest charities, including Save the Children and Marie Curie, making the achievement even more special.
Fundraising Manager Sara Fripp and 2025 contestant Tiff Watson accepted the award on behalf of everyone involved in making the event such a success.
Forest Holme Hospice Charity supports the work of Forest Holme Hospice, which provides specialist palliative and end-of-life care for more than 1,500 people each year across Poole, Wimborne and the Isle of Purbeck. The charity raises around £1 million annually to help ensure patients and their families receive compassionate care and support, both in the hospice and in their own homes.
Following its award-winning success, Strictly Extravaganza returns to Lighthouse, Poole, on Saturday 23 January 2027, with another ten local contestants preparing to take to the dance floor in support of Forest Holme Hospice Charity.
