New Business Club collaboration strengthens local cultural and community initiatives

One of Poole’s leading legal firms, HK Law, has joined forces with Lighthouse in a new partnership designed to support the region’s vibrant arts scene and wider community.

HK Law is the latest member to join Lighthouse’s growing Business Club—an initiative that brings together local organisations to help sustain one of the UK’s largest arts centres.

Supporting a Cultural Hub at the Heart of Poole

Lighthouse continues to play a vital role in Dorset’s cultural life. Over the past year alone, the venue has seen a 12% increase in ticket sales, hosting more than 2,000 performances, screenings and events, and welcoming nearly 500,000 visitors through its doors.

As an independent charity, partnerships like this are essential in enabling Lighthouse to continue delivering its diverse programme—while also supporting community projects and nurturing future creative talent.

Lucy Funnell, Corporate Development & Events Manager at Lighthouse, said:
“Our partnerships with local businesses help sustain everything we do. It’s thanks to this kind of support that we can train the next generation of creative professionals and deliver impactful community projects.”

For HK Law, the collaboration reflects a shared commitment to community and accessibility.

Katharine Jones, Senior Partner at HK Law, explained:
“We are delighted to be supporting Lighthouse. We know how much our clients value the wide range of entertainment, education and charitable support it provides to the communities we both serve.”

The partnership also follows the firm’s recent move to its new office at Link House in Poole, marking an exciting period of growth.

“Partnering with Lighthouse felt like a natural step,” Katharine added. “We share a common mission to deliver services that matter, make them accessible, and engage meaningfully with the people we support.”

Rooted in the Local Community

HK Law provides a wide range of legal services, supporting individuals with matters such as family law, conveyancing, wills and probate, as well as advising businesses on employment law, contracts and commercial agreements.

By joining the Business Club, the firm is reinforcing its commitment to the local area—supporting an organisation that plays a key role in Dorset’s cultural and educational landscape.

“Lighthouse is a cornerstone of Poole’s cultural offering,” said Katharine Jones. “It plays a vital role in bringing arts and education to Dorset, so it felt right for us to support an organisation that makes such an important contribution to the local community.”
