Same friendly team – exciting new era at the Garden Gate Tea Room
A much-loved favourite in the heart of Wareham has entered an exciting new era as The Garden Gate Tea Room welcomes new owner and manager Ian Ward.
Business as usual!
Tempting menu, lovingly created
Whether you’re stopping by for a hearty breakfast to start the day or catching up with friends over lunch, the Garden Gate continues to offer an impressive menu packed with homemade favourites. Customers can enjoy a tempting range of paninis, homemade quiches, alongside soups, pastries and daily specials freshly prepared by the team.

The café’s famous homemade cakes also remain a huge draw, with favourites including Chocolate Oreo, Lemon Drizzle, Banoffee, Coffee & Walnut and indulgent chocolate brownies. For something extra special, why not enjoy one of their ever-popular afternoon teas?
Catering service
Beyond the tea room itself, Ian and the team will also continue offering catering services for local events and celebrations, helping bring homemade food and friendly service to occasions across the area.
Local events
The Garden Gate tradition of local events is continuing too. Following the success of their recent Cream Tea and Cash Bingo afternoon, the team are now preparing for another fantastic evening of entertainment.
Coming up on Saturday 25th July at Wareham’s Masonic Hall is a spectacular King and Queen Tribute Night featuring Dean Richardson as Freddie Mercury and Barry Paul as Elvis. Starting from 7pm, the evening includes a Garden Gate Tea Room buffet meal, with tickets priced at £29.95 and available directly from the tea room. See details on Love It Local Events.
As The Garden Gate Tea Room begins this exciting new era, it’s clear that the heart of the business remains firmly the same — good food, friendly faces and a warm welcome for all.
