New antiques shop in Corfe
What’s a great way to open your new shop? Ask Edward Fox's lovely wife, Joanna (an great actress in her own right), to do the honours and cut the ribbon!
The Old Curiosity Shop’ opened its doors at the beginning of May in the former home of Castle Gemstones.
Nestled in the heart of the main square, it features an expansive two-floor showroom filled with antiques, paintings, furniture, sculpture, gifts and souvenirs.
Co-owner Steve Amey comments, “We are thrilled to have been given the opportunity to take over the space in this idyllic spot, a stone throw away from the historic castle and surrounded by further independent shops. It has been very well received by local residents so far and we continue to look forward to being part of the community for years to come”.
The stock is rotated frequently ensuring that there is always something new in store.
The official opening took place on Sunday 9th June, with actress Joanna David cutting the ribbon. The shop is open seven days a week, 11am – 5:30pm.
