Step forward and get involved to make our community better!
Wareham Lions Club - We're looking for new volunteers to join our membership...
When caring people join together, roll up their sleeves and take action to make their community better, it’s a beautiful thing – and an incredible feeling for everyone involved. That’s Lions. Being a Lion is about leading by example, building local relationships and improving the community through kindness.

Worldwide, it’s 1.4 million caring men and women serving their communities together so they can make a lasting impact and change more lives.
Locally in Wareham, Swanage and surrounding areas, Lions is a group of like-minded people raising money, supporting local causes, helping people in the community and volunteering hands-on assistance to those in need. We play an active role in Wareham Wednesdays, run the well-established Wareham Swimathon, held every October at Purbeck School and can be scene at many other local events, as well as out and about in our community helping wherever and whenever we are needed.
Help Wareham Lions make a difference locally
A recent example of that came this Spring, when local care home Anglebury Court in Wareham needed a new ramp to give safe access to wheelchair users. Lions were called to action, not only sourcing a new ramp, procuring it and transporting it to the area, but also installing it. This illustrates the hands-on volunteering that sets Lions apart. We take pride in our local community and pride in volunteering. We’ve been providing such kindness in action locally for over 50 years.
However, in order to continue making a difference in and around Wareham, we need you! We are looking for local people to step forward and get involved in local volunteering with the Lions. Could that be you? Do you have a little spare time to put into the local community? Do you have the kindness and energy to help those in the community less fortunate that yourself? Could you become a Lion and be a local community leader? If so, we’d like to hear from you…
