The smash burger originated when the restaurant – now nationwide chain – called, Smashburger (yes, a very creative name), opened its first restaurant back in 2007. However, the very first smash burger may have been invented several decades prior. It got its name from a restaurant owner named Bill Culvertson, when his employee smashed a burger on the grill using a can of beans and realized how much better it tasted.
A smash burger is a thin beef patty that is pressed onto a super-hot griddle. The burger is smashed down to increase browning and create a crisp exterior, concentrating flavour and turning the beef’s fat into a delicious crust. We are using locally sourced Curtis Butcher beef, plus the right mixture of ground beef short rib, beef brisket and beef chuck to achieve an 80/20 fat ratio.
Classic combination
Classic combination is the smash beef burger with our in-house made caramelised onion, grilled portobello mushrooms and blue cheese sauce.
Chicken Burgers
Locally sourced chicken breast seasoned and marinated for 24 hours by our secret recipe, fried to order. Offering two flavours: the classic chicken burger and the Katsu chicken burger, with a hint of fresh red chili and fresh chopped coriander.
Vegetarian Burger
We marinate for 24-48 hours and grill portobello mushrooms with oven roasted peppers and pesto mayo giving a full palate of flavours.
All burger buns are from The Italian Bakery – they are daily, freshly baked products with sesame seeds and toasted to order.

New pizza flavours
They are Vegetarian Extravaganza, Bolognese, Katsu Chicken and Quattro Formaggi. All our pizzas are classic tomato based apart from the Quattro
- Formaggi which has white base using olive oil and 4 types of cheese mushrooms and spinach.
Vegetarian Extravaganza Pizza is made with marinated artichokes, spinach, mushrooms and roasted peppers.
- Bolognese pizza is made with our signature Ragu, adding also a Dorset red cheddar, spring onion and chillies.
- Katsu Chicken Pizza with our sliced an fried chicken strips, katsu sauce, red chilies and fresh coriander.
Quattro Formaggi is a 4 cheese pizza with mozzarella, cheddar, goats’ cheese, parmesan, with olive oil, grilled mushroom and spinach.
Dips range
Our dips range include Aioli sauce, Sriracha mayonnaise, Hot honey sauce, Blue cheese sauce, Coriander Chilli sauce and Barbecue Sauce, they are great addition to any our sides or even pizzas!
