The Salt Pig's the Lighthouse in Poole, bringing new local flavour!
Poole’s Lighthouse has teamed up with Dorset food champions The Salt Pig, bringing locally sourced food and a fresh new dining experience to the arts centre.
Championing Dorset produce
From September, the popular restaurant and café at the Lighthouse has become The Artful Salt Pig at Lighthouse, giving audiences and visitors another reason to arrive early, stay after a show or simply pop in for something delicious.
The Salt Pig has been championing Dorset produce for 18 years, since opening its first restaurant in Wareham. Today, the family-run business has restaurants and cafés across Dorset, including Swanage, Studland, Chesil Beach and Poole Museum, as well as its unique Salt Pig The Farm at Langton Matravers.
At its new Lighthouse home, the team will continue its field-to-fork and sea-to-counter approach, working with local farmers, fishermen and producers and putting provenance and sustainability at the heart of its food.
“We’re excited to bring The Salt Pig to such an iconic venue in the heart of Poole,” say owners James and Becky Warren. “Provenance isn’t a marketing term for us – it’s a responsibility.”
The existing restaurant and café team has also transferred to the new operation, working alongside executive chef Simon Lane, so familiar faces will continue to welcome regular customers while introducing new visitors to The Salt Pig experience.
A new tasty edition to Poole's cultural scene
Whether you’re catching a film, heading to a show or simply looking for somewhere to meet friends over good food, The Artful Salt Pig at Lighthouse looks set to become a tasty new addition to Poole’s cultural scene.
It’s also a great place to pick up the lastest issue of Love It Local magazine!
