Wool Scarecrow Competition brings ocean-themed fun to the village
What began in 2020 as a way to lift spirits during the challenges of Covid-19 has now become a much-loved tradition in Wool. The annual Scarecrow Competition, organised by the community group Guerrilla Gardeners Wool, once again brought colour, creativity and plenty of smiles to the village this summer.
This year’s competition ran from 15–31 August with the theme of “The Ocean”, inspiring residents, families, businesses and groups to transform everyday materials into imaginative scarecrow displays. From mermaids to jellyfish and even an “Octovet,” the streets of Wool were filled with clever designs that celebrated both community spirit and marine creativity.
